Digital Asset Management - An Integrated Application that Helps in the Manipulation and Protection of Digital Media Assets
DAM is a Digital Asset Management System. It is a comprehensive application suite that allows search, analysis, retrieval and manipulation as well as protection of digital media assets. The fundamental factor of digital asset management is the focus on re-using, re-purposing and re-expressing digital assets in such a manner that cycle time and costs are reduced. It entails coding, logging as well as versioning and storage of digital media assets. The main DNA component is the repository. This is at the heart of the system and builds representation of the content in the form of a relational database.
